The Moonlighter’s Big Band is an all-volunteer, 16-piece big band focused on big-band swing, ballroom and Latin music. They are based out of Hartland, Vermont.
Black Beans Band is a high-energy Latin music band comprised of four Cubans and an Uruguayan all living in the Upper Valley area.
Elizabeth Dotson-Westphalen: Elizabeth is not a “band”, but she is a fabulous jazz vocalist who occasionally appears in the Upper Valley to sing with her father, David Westphalen.
Dom V and the Swing Out Big Band: There are a few really great big bands in the country today. The Swing Out Big Band is one of them. They are worth a two or three hour drive just to get a chance to dance to a band that really understands dancers. Band leader, Domenic Valarioti, heads up a world-class group of musicians - many of whom are faculty or retired faculty at Berklee College of Music.
The O-Tones, is a hot Swing, R&B, and Motown band from Western Massachusetts.
Compaq Big Band A 21-piece big band made up of employees of Hewlett-Packard, former employees of Compaq Computer Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation, and other big band musicians.

Natalie Mavor is a fabulous Salsa and Ballroom dancer. As a dance instructor, she is in great demand, so we are very fortunate to have her teach at our events once or twice a year. Students have said that she is exceptionally clear and helpful in her lessons. We agree. She provides thorough technical information in ways that are very easy to understand. Benjamin Ricard and Geneviève Kérouac are the 2007 World Swing Dance Champions & 2005 World Lindy Hop Champions from Quebec City. They have attended several of our local events over the years, and they joined us for the first time to teach Smooth Style Swing at our Tenth Anniversary Celebration on February 16, 2008 at Tracy Hall, Norwich, VT. We expect to have them with us again.
Sylvia Sykes is one of the world’s premiere swing dance instructors. An internationally recognized authority on most types of swing dance, Sylvia has been teaching and judging for 20 years throughout the US, Europe, and Australia.
Nick Williams is the guy to beat in Balboa competitions (good luck with that). He has won every major Balboa competition that there is. He became world Lindy Hop champion in 2005, which surprised nobody. He is one of those rare individuals who is amazing in competitions, but still so lovable that everyone wants to dance socially with him.
Steve & Rebecca Drzewiczewski are two of Boston’s favorite Lindy Hop instructors. As husband and wife, they teach, perform, and compete at Swing events around the country. They are also the co-producers of two successful swing dance weekends: The Boston Tea Party and The Wicked Lindy Weekend.
Richard Clough teaches at The Moving Company Dance Center in Keene, NH. He and his wife, Pam, are two of the most graceful Ballroom dancers we have met. Join them when they teach to learn how to glide gracefully yourself with your partner. You’ll be glad you did.

Swing Out New
Hampshire is an excellent Lindy Hop weekend camp held Labor Day weekend at Camp Wicosuta, on
Newfound Lake, near Hebron, NH. Numerous world-famous instructors like Steven Mitchell &
Virginie, Bill Borgida, Skye Humphries & Frida Segerdahl, Joel & Alison Plys, Manu Smith
and others teach at the event. Many visiting DJ’s also appear each year.
Swingin’
New England: Annual West Coast Swing & Lindy Hop weekend in Falmouth, MA. Includes
numerous workshops with world-famous instructors, amazing competitions, national DJ’s, and
tons of fun. John & Sandra Tomeny are members of the teaching faculty and John “Spin
Doctor” is one of the featured DJ’s at Swingin’ New England. We host a table

Wicked Lindy Weekend
is an excellent place to improve your swing dancing. With a focus on Lindy Hop and Balboa,
Wicked Lindy Weekend includes world-class instructors like Andy Reid & Nina Gilkenson, Peter
Strom & Ramona Staffeld, Ben Morris & Carla Heiney, and many others. Several visiting
DJ’s, including our own local DJ John “Spin Doctor” Tomeny, also join the
event.
The
Boston Tea Party: A West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Carolina Shag, dance
Revolution! Possibly the largest annual dance extravaganza in New England.
Beantown Lindy Hop Summer Camp: a combined event for dancers who want to study and improve
their dance skills. The event includes the Beantown Mini-Camp, Northeast Lindy Hop
Championships, and the week-long Beantown Lindy Hop Summer Camp, all hosted at Endicott College,
Beverly, MA. The event features instructors like Ryan Francois & Jenny Thomas, Steven
Mitchell & Virginie, Frankie Manning, and Kenneth & Helena Norbelie. Many visiting
DJ’s, including our own local DJ John “Spin Doctor” Tomeny, join the event.
Canadian
Swing Championships: Hosted on Canada’s Victoria Day weekend every
May, this is the largest swing dance competition in Canada. CSC features
lots of great workshops in Lindy Hop, Balboa and West Coast Swing from
instructors like Sylvia Sykes, Nathalie & Yuval, Bill Cameron and
lots of others. There are lots of visiting DJ’s from the US and Canada,
and of course, lots of exciting competitions.
Québec Swing Rendez-Vous
Over 300 people from the US, Québec, Ontario, and around the world, travel to
Québec’s winter wonderland each year for the Québec Swing Rendez-Vous.
Usually held in early February.
From Montreal with Love
Share the warmth of a mid-winter Blues Dancing over Valentine’s weekend in
Montreal. In the dead of winter, Montreal is freezing. It is colder than Toronto, Moscow,
Estonia, Beijing, and New York City. But Montreal with Love brings “blues dancing”
heat to this cold Canadian city. The organizers claim that this dance exchange features
everything anyone could possibly desire: music, wine, and women (okay, more like: music, snacks,
and dancers).
Herräng: An
amazing, month long, dance camp in Herräng, Sweden each July. The month is
divided into four weeks. You can choose one or more weeks to attend. A week in
Herräng can be anything from a wee breeze to a revolutionary experience close
to the edge of total exhaustion. The schedule is comprehensive and undoubtedly
one of the finest Lindy Hop (and related dance styles) camp to be found
anywhere. The forty or so instructors who teach each year are a veritable
who’s-who of Lindy Hop legend.
Dance
Flurry an amazing and affordable festival of music and dance in Saratoga
Springs, NY. Contra dance, Swing dance, and many, many other styles of dance
day and night.
US Open Swing Dance
Championships: The largest national swing dance event anywhere.
Encompassing West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Carolina Shag and Hand Dancing. It is
also the finale of the NASDE Annual Swing Dance tour.
American
Lindy Hop Championships: National championships held every October in Stamford,
Connecticut. A few decent workshops, lots of great competitions, national DJ’s, dance
rooms for Lindy Hop, Blues, and Balboa.
USA Grand
Nationals: The biggest Swing and Carolina Shag dance party in America (and in Atlanta).
All
Balboa Weekend: Marty Klempner & Valerie Salstrom’s annual (usually in
June) Balboa feast featuring the American Classic Balboa Championships in
Cleveland, OH.
New Years
Dancin’ Eve: Annual New Year’s Eve Party in Burlington, MA. Four nights of
dancing, Battle of the DJs, New Year’s Eve dinner show. West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, and
Hustle workshops.
Summer
Hummer: More West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, and Hustle in August with many of
the same instructors and DJ’s that are at the New Years Dance. This time at the
Sheraton Hotel in Framingham, MA. Some favorite activities at this annual event

North Atlantic Dance Championships: Formerly
held in April each year, in its day, it was The Northeast’s biggest swing dance event.

Annual Hollywood Style Lindy Hop camp in Los Angeles. Always has great
instructors & live bands.
